Jookabox’s third album titled Dead Zone Boys is bigger than the walls that surround it, and like a bull in a china shop it’s kind of unnerving. Pounding dissonant drums and amped up otherworldly vocals lend the impression that you’ve just been witness to a badass zulu tribe DJing a Ween party gone weirder. Crazy music for crazy people, Dead Zone Boys is ridiculous and entertaining, larger than life and ripe with odd surprises. Kind of like a dinosaur devouring a kiddie cocktail.
